[ Mao visibly pales a little at the suggestion of a tattoo, then relaxes when Izumi takes that comment for him. A tattoo is... so many needles. He's just here for one right now, thanks. ]
Uh, hi. I know Tsukasa and Hinata, too, we're all in the same grade, and theirs look really cool so... here I am!
[ MAO THAT WAS LAME. But he's trying. He's determined. He nods to Izumi. ]
Yeah, totally. No backing down now, you already placed my order, right?
damn. leo squints at mao, then looks over izumi more properly. it definitely does not fit his attitude, but you know what? that's fine, he's got the same sort of difference between walk and talk.]
... You look good, Izu, even if it's a surprise to hear the work you've had done on you. ♪ Not to worry, Mao~, I'll take care of you.
[of note: he absolutely says mao's name the same way a cat meows. maoumaou. he'll pat the reclining seat, moving to get the only tool he really needs and some cleaner for after the piercing's done. it's just a little thing. ]
It's just a pinch, won't take that long at all, a lot of the more time consuming stuff's the aftercare of it... Shouldn't be too tough for just a lobe though. Are you friends with my little Tsuka-tan? I know Izu is, they're in art club together, but what's your deal, Mao~?
[ Yeah, tattoos aren't what Mao would've expected from Izumi either but Retrospec takes no prisoners that way. Mao nods when Leo promises to take care of him, trying to pinpoint why his name sounds off in Leo's mouth. ... It's probably nothing, though, and for all that it sounds weird to his own ears it still seems natural for Leo.
The piercing gun catches his eye, but that doesn't look so scary at all, really. ]
Uh, yeah! Yeah, Tsukasa's always been really nice to me. We're in the school play together, too. [ He's gonna stop there because explaining the whole, "oh and we were idols at the same school in a past life," part is complicated and, well. Leo'll figure it out on his own eventually. Mao moves toward the chair, making sure Izumi's still close at hand. ]
Ehehe! It's all Retrospec, but aren't they cool? [It's easy to pull up his left sleeve a little to show the pattern that encircles his upper arm, but without a shred of shame, Izumi follows it by lifting up the left side of his shirt to reveal a whole host of tattoos.] What do you think?
[Between that and his eight piercings, he fits in rather well at this tattoo parlor.... But they're here for Mao, not him, and Izumi nods along and follows dutifully as Mao settles in the chair.]
I bet it'll be really easy with a piercing gun! And like I promised, I'll hold your hand, okay? Both of them, if you need me to!
[... god, he is absolutely taking miyamura aside after this so he can check him out properly. but he nods to the boy's assessment and brushes mao's hair out of the way of his ear, sort of a comforting gesture.]
Easy, easy..♪ The aftercare's mostly makin' sure it's clean and all. You can't take out the stud for a few weeks so it doesn't heal up immediately and you have to make sure you turn it so it doesn't... Well, it can get pretty attached to your skin if you're not careful? To be honest, if you don't take care of it properly, it can get infected like anything else.
[all very casually said, he's obviously given this type of advice before.]
Izu can probably tell you more, but I'll give you the rundown of your routine: Twist in the morning and evening at the very least, make sure you wash it at least once a day with some soap and water, clean it with rubbing alcohol like twice a day to fend off germs, and don't remove it for at least two months to be sure it's all healed properly. That's the basics.
Now. I'm gonna put this thing at your ear, kinda like a hole puncher, and it'll pinch a bit but it'll be fine, okay?
