as do all villains in their plots

( the extra gift is a promise. come christmas it'll take some tangible form, but ... miai has never been good at making commitments like these in advance - even something as small as gifts - never been good at making future promises, because he didn't know where he'd ever be. but he's ... going to try to stick to this through christmas, try not to squirm away from this thing with leo, even if it's uncomfortable and hard. so. he promised leo a gift, and he promised he'd be around enough to see if leo behaved well enough to warrant a second, so. it's a stupid, small thing, but miai is stupid himself; he can only start with small things like these. )
